Thank you Stone Bank for providing donuts & helping with morning drop off on Monday! Thank you FBC DeWitt for providing an ice cream sundae bar today! We are so appreciative and thankful for the community support we are given daily!

We will have a concession stand at field day again this year! Items that will be available and their cost: Sno Cones - $1 Popcorn - $1 Bottled Water - $1 We are excited for another great field day!

Field Day is Friday May 10th and we are still in need of adult volunteers! Volunteer forms went home with students last week. If you want to volunteer and haven't returned the form, go ahead and send it to DES with your student. If the form didn't make it home, and you would like to volunteer, email Mrs, Lindsay Beaton - lbeaton@dewittdragons.net. You can work ALL Day, or half day (Either 7:45 - 11:00 or 11:00 - 2:45). It takes a village to pull off a great day for the kids! We thank you all in advance!

Kinderlympics Update: Due to the large percentage of rainfall predicted for Thursday and Friday this week, we are moving Kinderlympics to Thursday, May 9th, 2024 at 1:30 pm.

DES fourth and fifth grade artists have been learning about sculpture by building pencils. This process has involved multiple steps including building the armature, paper mache, and acrylic painting. To go along with their larger-than-life sculptures, students made their interpretation of a sheet of notebook paper using markers and rulers. Art teacher Joli Holzhauer says that three-dimensional projects seem to be a favorite among students.

Don't forget, Field Day T Shirt Orders are due on Tuesday April 30, 2024. $15 a shirt, cash or checks made out to DES. Extra order forms are in the office if needed.

Order Forms went home yesterday or will be coming home for Field Day T Shirts! Shirts are $15 each and all proceeds are used for equipment to be used at Field Day and in Mrs Lindsay's PE Class. Order forms need to be returned, with payment, by Tuesday April 30th, to DES. Volunteer forms for field day will be coming home soon!

Mr. Henderson's 3rd period High School Programming 1 class has been working hard building a Vex robot! They got to show off their completed robot to Mrs. Sammie’s STEM class today!

5th Grade Students & Parents: This is a reminder about Pre Registration Tuesday, April 2nd at 6:00 pm in the DHS Cafeteria. We look forward to seeing all the 5th graders there!

Mrs. Stephanie Cody will be hosting a family math night for 5th grade parents. This math night will be covering decimals. Monday, April 1st at 6:00 in Mrs. Stephanie's room at DeWitt Elementary School.

To celebrate Kindness Week, DeWitt Elementary’s young artists created large wooden initials for the school grounds. The letters “D.E.S” were hand-painted by students in art class with the help of several parents and community volunteers. Students also created a canvas which will be permanently installed inside the building. “One way to show kindness is to collaborate,” said art teacher Joli Holzhauer. “When we work together, we can create an amazing gift for our school. Students also gain a sense of accomplishment when they see their artwork on display in front of the building.” The following people deserve special thanks: Dana Horton for spending many hours with the young artists, Jared Holzhauer for building and transporting the letters, and all the volunteers who worked with students during the project.

1ST GRADE and 4TH GRADE: We would like to send out a friendly reminder that there is only one more week left to order your child's DES Musical T-Shirt. This year's show promises to be like none other, and it would be wonderful if we could all come together to have a unified look during our performance at DES. In addition, we will be accepting donations towards buying shirts for those who are not able to ensure every student receives one. Your generosity would be greatly appreciated. T-Shirts are $15 each. Don't forget the PTO Decades Dance is tomorrow at DES! This is for all students and families PK-5. Children must attend with an adult, this is not a drop off event. Our PTO supports our students and our staff year in and year out, come and support them in this fun, family event!

The ATLAS State assessment will be next Wednesday, March 13th, 2024 for grades 3-5. Students need to eat a good breakfast, be on time, and try their best!
